Information Links

For those of you just starting out using multi-body dynamics simulation software, welcome, I find the work very interesting, almost addictive. However, when first starting out, the challenge can seem daunting, especially if you are trying to model a complex system. What help is out there for you? Well, the following list is a series of useful links where you may find useful information to help you along your way. Also keep visiting our website as we will be adding a number of technical articles over the coming months about new application areas for multi-body dynamics simulation techniques.

Multi-body Dynamics (and more general FE) Information Reserves

  • MSC.Software User Forums
These forums offer an excellent way to find help from your peers ( and sometimes the software developers themselves). Users can share information, ask questions, and generally find a lot of information about simulation methods. The forums cover all of MSC.Software's products, and within a given product forum are many different subject areas related to different aspects of the product use. If you have encountered a problem with modelling a particular characteristic, the chances are someone else has encountered a similar problem and already found a workaround. User registration (Free of charge) is required to access the forums.
  • MSC.Software Knowledgebase
The MSC Software Knowledgebase is exactly what it says, a repository for thousands of technical articles covering its products and their application areas. It is searchable, although you may need to experiment with the search terms you use to get good results. This also links to many of the past MSC.ADAMS Users Conference papers and also to VPD Conference papers which is a good showcase for how its software is being used successfully by its customers. User registration (free of charge) and a valid support contract is required to access the knowledgebase.
  • VI-grade Knowledgebase
Although this is a very recent addition to the VI-grade website, it will with time become a useful resource providing technical articles relating to the use and application of VI-grade software. User registration (free of charge) is required to access the VI-grade Knowledgebase with the above link.
  • LifeModeler Website
LifeModeler, Inc. (LMI) is a world-class provider of state of the art software solutions for predictive human motion to commercial, research institutions, and universities around the world.

For over 20 years, our scientists and engineers have been developing LifeMOD™, the biomechanics modelling environment for the world's leading commercial and research institutions.

LifeMOD™makes sophisticated human modelling technology accessible to all investigators of human motion. We invite you to take a moment to explore this web site and learn how LifeMOD™ has become the de facto standard in human simulation with over 500 commercial installations world-wide.
  • FEV - FEV Virtual Engine Powered by ADAMS™
FEV has been the technology partner for the MSC.ADAMS/Engine product family since in conception many years ago. It was recently announced that FEV were taking a bigger part in the development, distribution and support for the ADAMS/Engine product family. More information to follow soon as the new product is released and distibution channels confirmed.
  • Nafems
An independent site which represents the global simulation community. Covers all areas of simulation, but focuses mostly on finite element and CFD.
