We sell and support the following software tools from MSC.Software:

MD ADAMS

MD Adams is a mechanical systems analysis software built on MSC’s multidiscipline (MD) CAE framework. MD Adams integrates mechanical components, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, and control systems technologies to enable engineers to build and test virtual prototypes that accurately account for the interactions between these subsystems.

Product manufacturers often struggle to understand true system performance until very late in the design process. Mechanical, electrical, and other subsystems are validated against their specific requirements within the systems engineering process, but full-system testing and validation comes late, leading to rework and design changes that are riskier and more costly than those made early on.

MD Adams improves engineering efficiency and reduces product development costs by enabling early system-level design validation. Engineers can evaluate and manage the complex interactions between disciplines including motion, structures, actuation, and controls to better optimize product designs for performance, safety, and comfort. Along with extensive analysis capabilities, MD Adams is optimized for large-scale problems, taking advantage of high performance computing environments.

MD Nastran

MD Nastran is an integrated simulation system with a broad set of multidiscipline analysis capabilities based on proven CAE technologies. MD Nastran enables product manufacturers to simulate everything from a single part to complex assemblies and carry out a diverse set of virtual tests. By providing a single platform for a wide range of applications, MD Nastran offers cost savings and efficiencies across engineering CAE teams.

Engineers at both small businesses and large manufacturers are often required to run a multitude of tests to ensure effective designs. While simulation solutions have helped in replacing some of the physical tests, the disparate solutions for different types of tests has placed added burden on analysts and IT departments to maintain several products.

MD Nastran can be used for multiple CAE discipline studies including multi-physics analysis. In addition to all the capabilities of MSC.Nastran, MD Nastran offers a complete set of nonlinear analysis capabilities in both implicit and explicit solution technology, thermal and exterior acoustics and also the coupling analysis between various disciplines such as thermal structural and fluid structure interaction. This enables organizations to realize the benefits of a single solution without sacrificing performance, accuracy or solution capabilities. As part of our commitment to quality, the MD Nastran Software Quality Assurance Program complies with the applicable portions of Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations Part 50, Appendix B, Quality Assurance Criteria for Nuclear Power Plants and Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 21, Reporting of Safety Related Defects and Non-Compliances. (see Statement of Quality Assurance Policy)

MSC Patran

Patran is the world’s most widely used pre/post-processing software for Finite Element Analysis (FEA), providing solid modeling, meshing, and analysis setup for MSC Nastran, Marc, Abaqus, LS-DYNA, ANSYS, and Pam-Crash.

Designers, engineers, and CAE analysts tasked with creating and analyzing virtual prototypes are faced with a number of tedious, time-wasting tasks. These include CAD geometry translation, geometry cleanup, manual meshing processes, assembly connection definition, and editing of input decks to setup jobs for analysis by various solvers. Pre-processing is still widely considered the most time consuming aspect of CAE, consuming up to 60% of users’ time. Assembling results into reports that can be shared with colleagues and managers is also still a very labor intensive, tedious activity.

Patran provides a rich set of tools that streamline the creation of analysis ready models for linear, nonlinear, explicit dynamics, thermal, and other finite element solvers. From geometry cleanup tools that make it easy for engineers to deal with gaps and slivers in CAD, to solid modeling tools that enable creation of models from scratch, Patran makes it easy for anyone to create FE models. Meshes are easily created on surfaces and solids alike using fully automated meshing routines (including hex meshing), manual methods that provide more control, or combinations of both. Finally, loads, boundary conditions, and analysis setup for most popular FE solvers is built in, minimizing the need to edit input decks. Patran’s comprehensive and industry tested capabilities ensure that your virtual prototyping efforts provide results fast so that you can evaluate product performance against requirements and optimize your designs.

SimXpert

SimXpert is a next generation CAE application for modeling and analysis using FEA and multibody dynamics (MBD). Integrated with MSC's advanced multidiscipline (MD) solver technologies, SimXpert provides an efficient “end-to-end” solution that takes you from CAD to analysis report in a single easy-to-use application.

“Doing more with less” is a common theme in most companies today, but designers, engineers and CAE analysts spend most of their time and effort on manual, labor intensive tasks. Translating and fixing CAD data, meshing, reworking models, creating the same plots and charts over and over – all of these mean that engineers are spending more time developing expertise in using tools rather than on evaluating and understanding their products. SimXpert changes that by providing native access to CAD data and easy to use tools to automate their simulation jobs and get results fast. SimXpert’s unified user environment also enables teams to share data, models, results and best practices across time zones, geographic boundaries, and CAE disciplines, so that they can approach problems more consistently and get reliable results faster. Complete teams of engineers can now work in a modern and easy to use interface to run multi-body dynamics, structural analysis, thermal simulations, crash tests, drop testing, and more.

MSC Easy5

Engineering aircraft, vehicles, agricultural equipment, and other complex systems requires a systems-engineering approach in which not only the components and subsystems but the entire system as a whole is tested. Traditional build and test methodologies are time-consuming and expensive; and now more than ever, every industry is challenged to meet the conflicting requirements of increasing innovation while reducing cost and time to market.

Easy5 provides accurate, reliable multi-domain modeling and simulation of dynamic physical systems. Using Easy5, some of the most respected companies in the world are evaluating system level performance with CAE to reduce physical prototypes, cut cost, and accelerate their product development process.

Dynamic systems, those systems whose behavior as a function of time is important, are typically defined using first-order differential (or difference) equations. Easy5 simplifies the construction and analysis of such systems by means of a graphical, schematic-based application, offering a comprehensive set of pre-packaged "components", stored in application-specific libraries, to simplify the assembly and simulation of such systems. Systems engineers work within a familiar schematic drawing environment to add and specify simple, yet complex, connections between components in an intuitive, simple-to-use, multi-level hierarchical modeling environment.

Typical applications of Easy5 include control systems, hydraulics (including thermal effects), pneumatics, gaseous flow, thermal, electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, environment control, lubrication or fuel systems, and sampled-data/discrete-time behavior.
